Not usually one for writing blogs or articles, this is unfamiliar territory for me. But after visiting this location, I felt compelled to share a few words.

Before this little adventure, I hadn’t heard of the “The Secret Waterfall”—I shouldn’t really be surprised that its location isn’t common knowledge with a name like that. With a bit of detective work, though, you can quickly find the general area, and with a little more digging, the exact spot becomes relatively easy to pinpoint.

After marking it on my map, the plan was beeline it too the falls on arrival. Between work commitments and unpredictable weather, my free time is limited, so knowing exactly where I’m going is key to getting a shot I can be proud of.

This approach, however, haunted me on the drive home.

Yes, I knew where to park, which path to take, what to look out for—all scheduled precisely: finish work, drive two and a half hours, hike to the falls in time for golden hour, leave by sunset.

But why did it haunt me?

Because this part of the world is, without question, the most beautiful place I’ve seen. The charm of the buildings, the rolling hills, valleys, fields, and lakes—every turn in the road revealed a view more breathtaking than the last. Strangely, not one blog I’d read while researching this fall mentioned how utterly stunning the entire area is.

I wish I’d had more time to explore every corner. As incredible as the waterfall was, I’d confidently say it wasn’t even the most spectacular view of the day.

Please treat this gem with respect. While researching, I came across several people who didn’t want its location widely shared—and that’s completely fair. None of us want to queue up here like we do on the summit of Snowdon.

Update

A week later, With the weather forecast saying it will be sunny, I headed back over to explore what I missed. Unfortunately however the sun didn't show its face, I'm confident there is a magic image or two to find here eventually. I'll be back...
